Adult Evaluation & Review Services

Adult Evaluation & Review Services (AERS)
AERS, formerly known as Geriatric Evaluation Services, is an evaluation and assessment program with nursing, social, and psychiatric components to assist the elderly in planning and receiving appropriate care.

Families faced with the responsibility of providing for elderly members need information and guidance at a critical time. AERS coordinates in-home services or long-term care as needed.

Any persons aged 60 or over who live in Frederick County and need help in planning for their continued care can use AERS.

AERS Goals
  • To help the elderly to continue independent living if possible through utilization of community resources.
  • To reduce unnecessary admissions and length of stay in mental hospitals, nursing homes, and long term care facilities.
