The Frederick County Developmental Center Children’s Dental Clinic has suspended all dental services from March 16 – April 10. If you had a scheduled appointment between those dates; the clinic will contact you to reschedule. We will be available by phone to address any emergency needs. If your child is experiencing any pain or you have any dental concerns or questions please contact our office at 301-600-1041 to leave a message and a member of our dental staff will call you back as soon as possible.
Our mission is to provide quality dental care for Frederick County children who have Medical Assistance or are uninsured.
We are located on the upper level in the Frederick County Developmental Center at the Frederick County Health Department, Entrance C. Services are by appointment only.
Children’s Dental Services
Services are for children ages 1-18 years, including children with special needs. Services include complete examination, cleaning, x-rays, fluoride treatment, fillings, uncomplicated extractions, sealants and oral health education.
Please note: Information on a health & dental discounts and free prescription drug program is available through the county’s Live Healthy Initiative.
We provide oral examination and oral health education for children enrolled in the YMCA of Frederick County Head Start Program; oral screening and fluoride varnish application for children in schools served by the Frederick Community Action Agency’s School Based Health Center; and oral health education for interested groups serving children throughout Frederick County.
Gray Area Access
No adult services are provided by the Dental Program. However, we do offer a Gray Area Access voucher for adults with limited income and no dental insurance. Local oral surgeons volunteer to provide dental services in their offices at reduced fees. Please contact us for details.
