Below is a list of open positions at the Frederick County Health Department for the COVID-19 response. To apply for any of these positions, email a cover letter and resume to  

  • COVID Testing site Specimen Collector  Operates under the medical direction of the COVID Director and COVID Testing Site Supervisor. Responsible for registration, flow monitoring, and site collection of specimens for testing from, and education of, clients presenting for testing. 
  • COVID Testing Site Supervisor Overall supervision of the COVID testing site operations, including patient intake, assessment, flow, specimen collection and supplies as needed. Leader should have both clinical and organizational skills and understanding of purpose and function of assigned area.  
  • Pay is based on educational and experience levels. This position offers paid time off, health benefits, and a 457b retirement option.


    We are looking for candidates with great organizational skills, self-motivation, great customer service skills, and pays great attention to detail to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Bilingual in Spanish is preferable.

Behavioral Health Services Community Organized Recovery Efforts (CORE)

This is an opportunity to be part of a new, cutting edge model working with individuals recovering from substance abuse disorders. Join an innovative program known as CORE, a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC), a national trend in working with people seeking or in recovery. CORE is seeking volunteers to work in the following areas:

  • Recovery Coach - Persons with experience and knowledge of addictions guiding and mentoring people seeking or active in recovery
  • Telephone Recovery Support - Making follow-up phone contacts with participants of the ROSC program to offer support and provide information on ROSC functions
  • Recovery Center Support - Participate in running recovery center activities, classes, groups, social functions, and providing administrative support
  • Special Events - Participate in planning and working at special events for CORE participants

The Prevention Program is recruiting volunteers to assist in program activities.
