  • Long Term Care Facility (LTCF) Liaison (MWE# 1172012) The LTCF Liaison will participate in weekly meetings/calls as they pertain to COVID response at the FCHD (LTCF facility call weekly, Weekly MDH updates (LTC and LHD), Planning and Tactics call); will review and report out on testing and outbreak data as it pertains to the LTC and AL Facilities; and much more. 
  • Specimen Collector (MWE# 1174254) Operates under the medical direction of the COVID Director and COVID Testing Site Supervisor. Responsible for registration, flow monitoring, and site collection of specimens for testing from, and education of, clients presenting for testing. 
  • Site Supervisor (MWE# 1174329) Overall supervision of the COVID testing site operations, including patient intake, assessment, flow, specimen collection and supplies as needed. Leader should have both clinical and organizational skills and understanding of purpose and function of assigned area.

  • COVID Clinical Vaccine Program Manager This full-time position will oversee and manage the new COVID Vaccination Clinic. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, vaccine ordering, storage, required paperwork, data, and disposal. Oversite of budget, staffing, inventory, data storage and collection, along with changing needs, policies, and functionality for the overall function of the successful clinic. This position will also supervise the day-to-day activities at the COVID Vaccination Clinic with supervision of data entry staff, public information staff, and clinical vaccinators during the clinic hours. This position may include emergency meetings or other issues that would occur after hours. This position will work closely with the COVID Director, Health Officer, Public Health Preparedness, Maryland Department of Health, CDC, and other officials to successfully run the clinic for Frederick County.
    We are looking for clinical candidates with great organizational skills, self-motivation, great customer service skills, and pays great attention to detail to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Required:

Education: A Master’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity or one year of experience as a Community Health Nurse and two years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse.

1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three years of experience as a Community Health Nurse for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

  • COVID Clinical Vaccine Coordinator (part-time)

This position will also lead staff in the day-to-day activities at the COVID Vaccination Clinic. This position may include emergency meetings or other issues that would occur after hours.
    This position offers paid sick and safe leave, health benefits, and a 457b retirement option.
    We are looking for a candidate who is a registered nurse with great organizational skills, self-motivation, great customer service skills, and pays great attention to detail to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Bilingual in Spanish is preferable.

  • COVID Testing site – Full-time Collection Assistant (looking to fill two open positions)

    This full-time position greets the public in COVID testing site and mobile COVID testing sites, aids the public in Frederick County in the registration process, monitors the flow of the waiting area, and aids in collection of testing. This position uses independent judgement for client direction and client needs.

    Pay is based on educational and experience levels. This position offers paid time off, health benefits, and a 457b retirement option.

Behavioral Health Services Community Organized Recovery Efforts (CORE)

This is an opportunity to be part of a new, cutting edge model working with individuals recovering from substance abuse disorders. Join an innovative program known as CORE, a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC), a national trend in working with people seeking or in recovery. CORE is seeking volunteers to work in the following areas:

  • Recovery Coach - Persons with experience and knowledge of addictions guiding and mentoring people seeking or active in recovery
  • Telephone Recovery Support - Making follow-up phone contacts with participants of the ROSC program to offer support and provide information on ROSC functions
  • Recovery Center Support - Participate in running recovery center activities, classes, groups, social functions, and providing administrative support
  • Special Events - Participate in planning and working at special events for CORE participants
