Adult Evaluation & Review Services (AERS)
AERS, formerly known as Geriatric Evaluation Services, is an in-home evaluation and assessment program
for aged and/or disabled adults. The STEPS evaluation is completed in the home by a nurse or social worker. The evaluations help to make recommendations and identify resources that help the aged and/or disabled adults who are at risk for nursing facility placement to remain living in the community.
AERS also performs inter-RAI evaluations for community Medicaid recipients who are seeking Home and Community-based Services (HCBS).
AERS is responsible for performing the federally mandated PASRR evaluations for clients who have an Intellectual Disability (ID) or Mental Illness (MI).
