Environmental Health Specialist Trainee
The current Local Health Improvement Planning Workgroups focus on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)/Infant Health, Behavioral Health, and Chronic Disease, and will remain active at least through June 2022, with more information found here. If you are interested in joining a current Workgroup and/or would like more information about getting involved, please contact Malcolm Furgol, Executive Director, Frederick County Health Care Coalition. The FY23-25 Frederick County Health Improvement Priorities selected are ACEs in Adolescents, Diabetes/Type 2, and Mental Health. As a result, 3 new Workgroups that will focus on each of these priorities are recruiting interested community members and partners! These new Workgroups will begin meeting in February or March 2022 to start planning for the next 3-year cycle. New members are welcomed anytime! Workgroup members will be given an orientation and trained on the use of logic models and the development of action plans, with implementation of the plans beginning in July 2022. Please complete the LHIP Workgroup Interest Form if you would like join or if you would like to receive more information.

The Recovery Center is a recovery community organization that offers a variety of supports to those in recovery. Those who participate can expect to experience recovery related activities such as peer-led recovery discussion groups, wellness and life-skills classes, wellness and recovery planning groups, art classes and sober social activities.
