Frederick County Health Department Reopens to Public July 1
FREDERICK, MD -- Effective July 1, the Frederick County Health Department (FCHD) building at 350 Montevue Lane will reopen to the public from 8am to 5pm. All services will be fully accessible, but hours may vary by program. The Health Department will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.
Masks will be required to be worn in all public areas of the health department building and in all meetings or gatherings of employees until September 1, as required by county buildings according to the Frederick County Executive.
“We have worked hard to continue to creatively offer our programs and services during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are happy to resume more of our normal operations at this time,” said Dr. Barbara Brookmyer, Frederick County’s Health Officer. “Many of our employees have been redirected to focus on COVID-19 response during the last year, but the current metrics for our community are promising thanks to the high rates of vaccination.”
COVID-19 testing and vaccination will continue to be offered at alternate locations.
Program hours that differ include:
Programs that provide services by going into private homes may ask about household illness before arriving.
