Adult Bitten by Unknown Dog in the Countryside Community off Buckeystown Pike in Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Seeking Owner of Dog.

An adult was bitten by an unknown dog on Saturday morning, January 21st, 2023, on Coach Light Court in the Countryside community off Buckeystown Pike in Frederick, Maryland. The bite occurred while the victim was attempting to break up a dog fight between her dog and the unknown dog. A bald, unknown man was able to restrain the unknown dog before leaving the scene of the incident. The dog is described as a pitbull-type, brindle in color, and possibly wearing a choker collar.

Contact is needed to confirm the animal’s health and whereabouts. The animal will be quarantined, which can occur in the owner’s home, for 10 days to monitor its health. If the animal is verified to be in good health 10 days after the bite, it will be allowed to resume normal activity, and the victim can avoid receiving unnecessary and expensive post-exposure rabies vaccinations. The Frederick County Health Department is asking that the owner or anyone who has information about the animal please contact Frederick County Animal Control at 301-600-1544.
