Who Can Apply

Certified copies of death certificates can be issued to immediate family members if the date of death is January 1, 2015 to present and the death certificate has been registered. 

If death occurred before January 1, 2015, you must contact the Division of Vital Records at 410-764-3053 to obtain certified copies of death certificates.

How to Apply

In Person

Funeral homes can drop off applications for death certificates in the drop box outside Entrance A by noon and pick them up on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm.

Fee

The cost is $18 for the first death certificate and $20 for each additional death certificate per transaction. We accept cash, check, MasterCard or Visa credit cards.
