Health Care Connection is your link to information regarding Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and other state health insurance programs (Qualified Health Plans) and HIV services.

• Administrative Care Coordination Unit (ACCU) & Ombudsman Program
  • This program provides education and outreach to Medical Assistance recipients to increase awareness of Medical Assistance Programs. It assists with care coordination, service access, complaint resolution, or other identified needs; works with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations to ensure enrollees receive covered services. 
• Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP)
  • Health care coverage for income-qualifying children, pregnant women, and adults under 65 years. Medicaid enrollment. MCO enrollment. Assistance with verifications. Navigator assistance with QHP (Qualified Health Plans).
• Medical Assistance Transportation
  • Active Medical Assistance (MA) clients who live in Frederick County and do not have access to public or personal transportation may be eligible to use MA shared ride transport services for non-emergency transportation to and from medical appointments. 
• HIV/AIDS Services
  • Frederick County Health Department provides free confidential HIV screening/testing, treatment services, and partner notification services. Open Tuesdays and Fridays, 9am-3pm; No appointment needed! For questions and/or to schedule an appointment for an HIV screening/test, please call 301-600-1733.
