Lead and Asthma Program

Mission

Our Lead and Asthma Program aims to reduce asthma related emergency room visits, missed school days, asthma attacks and lead exposure. We meet these goals through no cost in-home and virtual appointments, education and resources.

During the Appointment

At no cost the following will be given:

  • Education on safe ways to remove lead or asthma triggers
  • Cleaning supplies like vacuums, mops, hypoallergenic mattress and pillow covers
  • Review of your doctor's advice, such as: Asthma Action Plan and medication use
  • Referrals to community resources
  • Translation services during home visits if needed

Our staff visit you and your child in the comfort of your own home to make things easy. We can make appointments based on your schedule. Appointments are also available virtually or over the phone.

Eligibility

The program serves children who are 18 and younger who have been diagnosed with high blood lead levels or moderate to severe asthma. These children must also have Medical Assistance (Medicaid or MCHP).
