Here at AMR, we use the term "extra needs" instead of "special needs." Your child doesn't need an IEP or have significant cognitive delays to join us. "Extra Needs" includes more than just physical and cognitive differences. It's not just Down syndrome, CP, and autism. We also support families dealing with injury, trauma, medical crises, abuse, abandonment, neglect, adoption, foster care, and addiction. See the short list of examples to the left. Not sure? Just ask!
We also help special educators and caregivers of disabled spouses, like wounded veterans and illness or injury victims.
