The Frederick County Health Department has received reports of individuals posing as inspectors in food facilities in Frederick County.
These individuals have requested appointments to inspect the food establishments and also that a fee be paid to them at the inspection appointments.
Frederick County Food Control Office inspectors have Frederick County ID’s and Frederick County business cards.
- Routine Inspections are not scheduled in advance with an appointment for businesses that have regular operating hours.
- An Inspection Fee is never required or requested for an Initial Routine Inspection of a business.
If a Health Inspector enters your facility:
- Ask for ID, and
- Call our office at 301-600-2542 to verify the validity of the ID if you do not recognize the individual.
